Date and place: Thursday, May 24, at 12:30 pm, ESSEC - campus La Défense (CNIT) - room 104 Abstract: Fingerprinting has long been used for identification purposes, but biometrics are now becoming mass market. Fingerprint unlocking of smartphones is the new default setting, replacing passwords, and facial recognition is now being used on iPhone Xs and Microsoft laptops. The use of biometrics in digital security ideally combines convenience and accuracy, but there are also many risks to be aware of so that they can be properly addressed: potential hacking, planned or unplanned abusive usage, respect of privacy...
