[SFdS] Training Early phase clinical trials, du 20 au 22 mai 2019, Paris (ENSCP)

Description:
The importance of exploratory clinical research prior to the launch of a large-scale definitive phase III clinical trial is becoming increasingly recognised, both in the pharmaceutical industry and in public sector medical research. Advanced statistical methods dedicated to the design and analysis of these important early phase clinical trials are essential to accelerate drug developments and to select promising drug candidates, better and earlier.
This course presents the types of trials undertaken in early phase clinical research – both in oncology and non-oncology therapeutic areas – and details the different methodologies used: fundamental approaches on dose finding (day 1), adaptive methods for phase II trials (day 2) and a practical session in R (day 3, facultative).
It is intended to all statisticians with some interest in early phase clinical trials, from juniors to senior managers. Some background knowledge of R is required for the facultative practical session on day 3.

Speakers: Prof Thomas JAKI and Dr Pavel MOZGUNOV
